Welcome to pureyogadrops, a site of inspiration and information to facilitate personal growth.
In our fast paced and sometimes overwhelming life we unconsciously lose contact with our calm and quiet core. This is our space or place of inner peace.
Through Yoga we recognize and reconnect to our balanced energetic “self.” The 4 energy bodies of breath, body, mind/emotion, and spirit are explored and enhanced via our practice. We become mindful of these aspects of self and their influence within our actions and reactions. We become independent thinkers using our knowledge to facilitate peace in our own life and the lives of others.
As a practitioner of yoga for approximately 20 years and a teacher of yoga for a decade, I have experienced the support of yoga in my quest for freedom and authenticity. I began spiritual exploration as a teenager when I left the organized religion I was raised in. I studied and explored Shamanism, Buddhism, Chinese medicine, and energetic philosophies of disease and healing. This path of study led me ultimately to Yoga as it possesses an ancient and intuitive wisdom that includes many philosophies in one highly organized system.
Teaching calls me. I began my career as a teacher of Special Education where I applied task analysis to curriculum and student learning profiles, creating methods and materials to best suit individual needs. Little did I realize this would be incredibly valuable to me as a teacher of yoga designing classes which combine visual, auditory, and kinesthetic information into the sensory experience of yoga practice. My teaching experiences continued to evolve and I proceeded on to teach Yoga as an accredited course in the Health Science Department of our local community college. We explored the benefits of the practice via the stimulation of the parasympathetic nervous system while experiencing mindful exploration of our actions and reactions to our current life circumstances. The insight students found most valuable was the need to examine the myths and falsehoods our society feeds us that cause us to feel anxious, uninspired, overwhelmed, angry, or depressed. Here I wish to provide information on how the practice of yoga can provide neutral perspective into these feelings and bring balance back to your everyday life in times of physical, mental, or spiritual distress.
The 8 Limbed practice of Raja Yoga or Ashtanga is empowering. pureyogadrops is born of my experiences with Yoga as a student and a teacher. It is my sincere hope that you might relate to what I offer as a path to peace. Just like you I am a work in progress and so we can grow together.
I thank you for visiting pureyogadrops, I hope you’ll return frequently.
I wish you an inspired yoga practice.
Namaste,

“Peace. It does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble or hard work. It means to be in the midst of these things and still be calm in your heart.” Unknown
